What projects will the Foundation fund?

The activities of the Foundation will be based on collaboration between different stakeholders. The EBF will create awareness by releasing guidance on priorities and desirable outcomes in order to ensure that every project receiving funds will meet public health needs, as well as all scientific and ethical requirements. Proceeding from call to project(s) is the EBF’s priority. However, independent applications may also be considered if they correspond to research in a thematic field a donor wishes to support.

A list of relevant thematic areas for the EBF is included here.

How will projects be chosen?

The EBF is acting as an expert interactive platform between research and innovation developers and donors. The projects submitted will be overseen accordingly and donors will have a clear view of the projects they are funding. The final decision for the allocation of funds will belong to the EBF Board of Directors with the help, when necessary, of independent external experts.

How does the EBF conduct activities corresponding to its main mission?

With the aim to achieve proper investment in brain research, the EBF will coordinate two streams of activities:

  1. Organize fundraising by public awareness raising campaigns and events and support the publication and dissemination of materials that inform potential funders.
  1. Foster the creation of research projects that will contribute to the aims of the Foundation and that are eligible for funding.

All these activities will be conducted in full transparency: the origin of funds, their destination, the list of projects submitted and chosen, and all other information linked to the life of the Foundation will be published on the official website.

Who will benefit from the activities of the Foundation?

First and foremost, people affected by a brain condition whose outcomes will be significantly improved by new preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic approaches. And of course, scientists, professionals, clinicians and all additional stakeholders  active in aiming to understand the brain, developing methods and treatments to modify the course of its disorders and, ultimately, to cure them.

Who can contribute to the activities of the Foundation?

Anyone wishing to support the goals and activities of the Foundation: donors, investors, philanthropists, family offices, charities, private institutions, companies, international organizations.
